Private and group voice lessons for students age 5 and up.
For my younger students and beginners, I teach the basics of healthy singing technique: breathing, vowels, and simple music theory. With my older students (teens and up) who have some previous experience, I customize my approach to fit the goals and taste of each individual student. My students sing musical theater, opera, and pop. I feel it is important for all singers to preserve their voices by learning healthy vocal production, while still maintaining their own unique voice and style.
I believe that studying music is like learning a language: in order to become fluent, one must also study the structure and theory of music. However, I also believe that music lessons should be fun, and I enjoy finding ways to incorporate music theory into lessons and making meaningful connections between theory concepts and the songs being studied.
